Many people gravitate towards a teacher or a master hoping he or she can do the work for them, but they don’t understand that it is impossible for anyone to live another person’s life. You can sit in the presence of a spiritual master and receive guidance, but if you don’t meditate and do your personal work you will never find your being and experience the truth the master is pointing to.

No matter how great the spiritual teacher or master is, he or she can point the way but cannot liberate you. You must understand that you live your life based on your own conscious and unconscious choices. No one can interfere with these choices no matter how good their intentions may be. Your choices are your freedom and your responsibility.

You must become the captain of your own ship because no one else can navigate it to your soul’s destination. This is what Jesus meant when he said: “The path is long and narrow and only one person can walk on it.” What I am doing here is only sharing a little of my own experience and understanding. Perhaps hearing my words will be an inspiration for you to chart your own path.

Your excitement indicates that you have become identified with the experience instead of simply remaining a witness to it. If you stay attached to the memory of the experience, you will close the door to experiencing other moments and dimensions of reality. It is good that your awareness is growing, but don’t stay identified with the experience. Once you have learned and understood something from the experience, let it go and move on until nothing is left except your inner silence and witnessing consciousness.

The deeper you move inside and invite the emptiness, the more you will begin to feel that it is actually not really empty, but full. It is full of peace, full of joy, full of love. These feelings have nothing to do with anything external. They are the blissful and divine qualities of your own being and existence that we call God.

Everyone has an ability to help others. The form in which each person shares their gifts varies. Regardless of what kind of alternative professional training someone receives, each person can only share what their own life-long experiences have taught them. To be a practitioner of DHM, one needs to first learn how to recognize and discriminate between his/her own ego-mind and consciousness before one becomes able to work with another’s ego-mind and consciousness.

You are asking if my book can tell you exactly how to get to the root? In Search of the Miraculous: Healing into Consciousness is a perfect first manual for helping to prepare any alternative practitioner to recognize the difference between his/her ego-mind and consciousness. This is an absolute prerequisite for being able to unearth the root cause(s) of any problem(s). The way to discover the cause of our problems is through our witnessing awareness. Cultivation of your witnessing awareness through meditation and introspection will help you to develop your skills as an alternative practitioner and will help to magnify your own gifts.

By reading and practicing the many exercises and meditations described in the book, you will understand the mechanism of how your own ego-mind and consciousness have been developing and thus will have a greater understanding of how other people’s ego-mind and consciousness work. Practicing with the meditations and exercises described in the book will also help you to strengthen your witnessing awareness, which is the essential key in developing your ability to discriminate between your ego-mind and consciousness.

My second book, Healing into Consciousness with the Dalian Healing Method, will describe in greater detail how DHM works and how anyone can help themselves to access the root cause of their energetic blocks and move to greater awareness of their Being and presence in the Now.

What you have addressed in your question may be of relevance to many. Once you start coming closer to yourself, the world around you begins to feel less and less real, and it becomes more difficult to relate to people who are still caught in their beliefs of the world as real. Tangible reality seems real to us so we get identified with it and forget that everything tangible is temporary. Just like our body, everything eventually ends up slowly deteriorating and dying.

Spiritual books are wonderful stepping stones to help open new doors of perception and understanding in us, but they are only a beginning, and can never give us the experience of our being. If you truly want to become a knower of truth you need to experience it for yourself. Meditation (self-observation and witnessing of your breath) is the only tool that I know of that can bring you into the stillness of your being and help transcend the illusion of your thought-based reality.

So, what I would like to suggest, instead of waiting for my next book begin practicing (if you are not already doing so) with the many exercises and the wonderful Osho Active Meditation methods that I have included in the book. Depression haunts you and so many others because we are not living in a civilized and loving world! Anyone who is sensitive and feels the man-made pain that this earth is surrounded with cannot help but feel depressed. Having said that, it is also important to understand that the main root of depression is our identification with the world, our need to have things be different than how they are, and ultimately, our lack of knowing who we truly are – our Being without any story! If you want to come out of depression, begin accepting yourself and the world, and look inside to understand the causes of your depression instead of suppressing, avoiding, or trying to fix it.
