In order to have a healthy relationship with our inner and outer world, we need to create and maintain a balanced relationship between our body, mind and emotions. And, in order to have a healthy relationship within our communities and nations, we need to create and maintain a balanced and healthy relationship within our families. An imbalance in one realm of our existence will negatively affect all of the others, sabotaging our individual, communal, and global peace and wellbeing. Ultimately, the responsibility of how the outside world runs rests within each family.
When our family lives and relationships are dysfunctional, we bring that dysfunction into the world. When they are balanced and harmonious, we bring harmony and balance into the world. An absolutely crucial part of parenting, therefore, is to create family time for meditation and introspection. If every family allocated 15, 30, or 60 minutes a day to come together and practice looking inward we would quickly become a more mentally and emotionally healthy and loving people, society, and world.

To practice family meditation, you can either try just a 15 minutes a day of sitting silently together while watching your breath, or, first help release the stress accumulated in the body by practicing with any active meditation technique described in the other sections.

If you have younger children, you can use any of the meditation techniques described in the Active Meditations for Children section. If your children are teenagers, you can use any of the meditations described in the Active Meditations for Youth section or the Osho Active Meditations and Other Active Meditations sections.

It is best to choose a meditation method that is enjoyable for the whole family.
By making family meditation a daily practice we can turn this world into the most beautiful oasis in the Universe!
